NOTICE: Regular cemetery clean up changed to accommodate Easter holiday
spacerThe regular Spring clean up will be moved to the week of April 14. City workers will be clearing old items out of Crown Hill and Hillcrest cemeteries the week of April 14, a week earlier than originally anticipated.
spacerFamily members who have items they would like to retain at a grave site should visit the applicable cemetery the week of April 7 to temporarily remove those items. Once the clean-up is completed the week of April 14, the items can be placed back at the grave site.
spacerSome more permanent fixtures will be left untouched.

Find answers on proposed Community Center
spacerRenderings are currently on display at the Hall of Waters, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and residents are encouraged to stop by and take a look. A one-cent sales tax to fund construction and operation of the community center will be on the April 8 ballot. For more information, visit the website.

Household Hazardous Waste Event scheduled May 31
spacerExcelsior Springs/Lawson will be hosting a Mobile Collection - Household Hazardous Waste Event from 8 a.m. to noon. It will be held at the Excelsior Springs Public Works Department, 103 E. Water Street (off S. Marietta).
spacerHousehold Hazardous Waste (HHW) includes household cleaners, lawn and garden products, automotive fluids, paints and paint-related products.

Weekly Curbside Recycle Pickup starts February 3
spacerAllied Waste will be beginning weekly curbside pickup of recyclables starting on February 3, 2014 on your regular scheduled trash day. Allied Waste will be sending out a mailer to all citizens with additional details.

2013 Collection of City Taxes will change
spacerBeginning with tax year 2013 City taxes and vehicle license fees will be included on the County tax bill and collected by the respective County Collector.

Hours of operation to change in December
spacerEffective December 1, 2013 all City Offices in the Hall of Waters building will be closed from Noon - 1:00 pm daily. This includes the Cashier Window. Water payments may be left in the drop box in the circle drive.
spacerThe Visitor Center, located in the Hall of Waters building will remain open from Noon - 1:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Visitor Center hours are 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday.

Bulky Item Drop-Off
spacerThe City of Excelsior Springs will provide a Bulky Item Drop Off site every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon -- then from 12:30 to 3 p.m., starting April 6 and running through December 28, 2013. Located at 1300 South Marietta St., next to yard waste drop-off site.
spacerA staff person on site will determine fee from schedule. All payments must be cash only, no checks or credit card payments accepted. For fee schedule and information on items that are accepted or not accepted, click here.
