A Community Open House for discussion of the Community Center will be held in February at The Montgomery Event Venue, 425 S. Thompson Ave., downtown Excelsior Springs to provide updated information. Watch for details!
2013 Collection of City Taxes will change
Beginning with tax year 2013 City taxes and vehicle license fees will be included on the County tax bill and collected by the respective County Collector.
Magna Seating receives Keystone recognition from Clay County EDC

Magna Seating of America/Excelsior Springs was presented a 2013 Keystone Award by the KC Northland Clay County Economic Development Council during a recognition awards ceremony held December 10, 2013. The awards honor businesses that have increased their commitment to Clay County through job creation, capital improvements, expansion, new equipment, technology and important quality enhancements that serve not just individual organizations, but entire communities.
Magna Seating of America/Excelsior Springs provides seat and form manufacturing for the new Ford Transit Van, which entered production this year at the Ford Claycomo plant. To meet this new demand Magna Seating invested $8 million in a major retooling and expansion of its facility in Excelsior Springs. The work also created 16 new jobs and retained 389 workers.
The general contractor for the effort was Brian Armstrong, and the engineer manager and project architect was Williams Spurgeon Kuhl & Freshnock.
Hours of operation to change in December
Effective December 1, 2013 all City Offices in the Hall of Waters building will be closed from Noon - 1:00 pm daily. This includes the Cashier Window. Water payments may be left in the drop box in the circle drive.
The Visitor Center, located in the Hall of Waters building will remain open from Noon - 1:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Visitor Center hours are 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday.
2013 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule

Bulky Item Drop-Off
The City of Excelsior Springs will provide a Bulky Item Drop Off site every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon -- then from 12:30 to 3 p.m., starting April 6 and running through December 28, 2013. Located at 1300 South Marietta St., next to yard waste drop-off site.
A staff person on site will determine fee from schedule. All payments must be cash only, no checks or credit card payments accepted. For fee schedule and information on items that are accepted or not accepted, click here.
