MoDOT Bridge Work alternate routes
Public Works Director Chad Birdsong said detours provided by MoDOT are primarily intended for through traffic and commercial traffic. Those more familiar with the community could use alternate routes to avoid the bridge construction work. For commercial detour maps and alternate routes for citizens, click here.
The east Missouri 10 bridge over Fishing River is now complete and open to through traffic.
Increases to Water and Sewer Rates
You may or may not be aware of the impending rate increases for water and sewer consumption fees that are being considered for implementation later this year but by the beginning of the City’s budget year, October 1, 2010.
In order to meet the regulatory requirements placed upon our wastewater treatment system and collection system, as well as ensuring we continue to meet water storage and distribution needs, there are several projects scheduled for completion over the next five (5) years. In order to meet the financial needs of these projects, annual fee increases over the next five (5) years will be significant, and will include an annual inflationary increase that should continue beyond the 5-year capital improvement plan.
You may download tables reflecting the current fees and the planned fees. If you know your current consumption averages, you can calculate the new cost of the services to provide your own budgetary amounts. If you need assistance at determining your average uses and/or subsequent charges, you may contact me, Tom Wall, Director of Utility Services, at 630-0755.
Your are always welcome to make comments, direct questions, or otherwise discuss this matter with City Government, or City Administration & Management. The first reading of the Ordinance is scheduled for reading June 7, 2010 at the regularly scheduled Council meeting and a second reading is scheduled for July 6, 2010 at the regularly scheduled Council meeting.
