Block Party Challenge<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Calling all Excelsior Springs residents! The residents of Excelsior Springs are challenged to hold 50 neighbor gatherings between Easter and Halloween.<\/h4>\n

To promote social connection, the City of Excelsior Springs is encouraging our residents to get to know each other through neighborhood gatherings.\u00a0These can be small and informal or a big production.\u00a0The main thing is that you are spending time with your neighbors.<\/h4>\n

What kind of gathering suits your situation?\u00a0 Here\u2019s a list of ideas to get started:<\/h4>\n

  1. \n

    Invite neighbors for coffee and donuts in your driveway on Saturday morning.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    Start a Flamingo Friday gathering in your neighborhood.\u00a0 Invite neighbors to bring a drink and a lawn chair to your driveway on Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. (or however long you feel comfortable) Mark your driveway with plastic flamingos.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n

    Invite fellow dog walkers to walk together.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  4. \n

    Host a dinner party or cookout.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  5. \n

    Place a firepit in the driveway and invite neighbors to roast marshmallows.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  6. \n

    Create a \u201cParent Relief Station\u201d in your driveway on Halloween.\u00a0 Provide water bottles and snacks for parents.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n
  7. \n

    Plan a big block party and invite the whole neighborhood!\u00a0 (Get some other neighbors to help.\u00a0 Getting to know each other at smaller gatherings will help you find a core group who can help with planning.)<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
