March 20 – Won’t You Be My Neighbor Day
This day happens every year to celebrate Mr. Fred Roger’s birthday. Celebrate this special man and special day by letting your neighbors know that you value them. Deliver a treat, leave a kind note, or do a random act of kindness for a neighbor.
April 20, 2024 Earth Day Clean Up
Great neighborhoods are clean, safe, and friendly. Volunteer with your neighbors and Excelsior Springs Parks and Rec to clean up your neighborhood and public areas around town.
May 1, 2024 May Day
Celebrate the coming of Spring by giving your neighbors flowers! Traditionally, children create May Day baskets of paper with paper flowers to hang on neighbor’s doors.
June 1 – June 15, 2024 Show Me Neighborhood Art Week
All Missourians are invited to participate in front yard art displays. See below for inspiration and ideas!
July 4, 2024 Independence Day
Gather with neighbors for a cookout and neighborhood appropriate fireworks!
September 21, 2024 National Night Out
Come one, come all to a community block party hosted by the Excelsior Springs Police Department! Located in Downtown Excelsior Springs, there will be games, food, and fun for everyone at this family friendly event!
September 28, 2024 National Good Neighbor Day
Do a good deed for a neighbor, or just let them know that you’re glad they are your neighbor! Spread the kindness by bringing treats or leaving a kind note on the door.
September 28 – October 4, 2024 Missouri Good Neighbor Week
Why limit the good neighboring vibes to one day when we can share the love for a whole week?! The State of Missouri does it right by stretching out this special day to 7 days. Create some neighborhood chalk art, have a block party, or find your own special way to let your neighbors know you care.
