Community Outreach Unit

The Excelsior Springs Police Department is dedicated to building strong, positive relationships within our community. Our Community Outreach Unit offers various programs designed to connect officers with residents and provide support to those in need. Our programs include:

  • Shop with a Cop: Officers take underprivileged children Christmas shopping, helping them select gifts for themselves and their families.
  • Coffee with a Cop: An opportunity for community members to meet with officers, discuss concerns, and get to know each other in an informal setting.
  • National Night Out: Strengthens the bond between residents and law enforcement. Families can explore squad cars, emergency response vehicles, and participate in interactive, family-friendly activities.
  • Youth Engagement Activities: Pop-up events, block parties, and other activities that bring together kids and families for fun, food, entertainment, educational information, and giveaways.
  • Community Assistance: We provide support to underprivileged community members for a variety of needs.

In partnership with the Community Foundation of Excelsior Springs, our outreach programs are funded by generous community donations. If you’d like to contribute to one of these programs, please click here.
