We are proud to work in close partnership with the community, and Excelsior Springs is recognized for its exceptionally low crime rate\u2014a testament to our strong relationship with residents and proactive approach to public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Department Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Excelsior Springs Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency with a dedicated team of 35 full-time employees, including 24 sworn police officers. Our responsibilities extend beyond policing to include emergency communications and animal control services. These essential services are supported by an annual operating budget of approximately $3.4 million, ensuring that we have the resources to serve our community effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>School Resource Officer Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration with the Excelsior Springs School District, our department provides three uniformed <a href=\"https:\/\/cityofesmo.com\/espd\/sro-program\/\">School Resource Officers<\/a> (SROs) who work within our schools to promote safety and build positive relationships with students and staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our MissionTo efficiently provide quality police service to our community by promoting a safe environment through a Police-Citizen partnership, with emphasis on mutual trust, integrity, fairness and professionalism.
