The Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Commission is accepting nominations for their Historic Preservation Awards Program through March 28, 2024 , 5:00 p.m. Awards will be given for two categories, Commercial and Residential. Property owners who have made significant improvements to historic properties may be nominated by anyone in the community.
Awards in 2023 were presented to 415 S. Thompson Ave. where Pairings by Van Till is located, owned by Jason Van Till, the Atlas Saloon Brewery, owned by Jim McCullough, for historic mural, Roger Smith received a residential renovation award for 420 Concourse Ave., and Ron Pruitt received a residential renovation award for restoration of Dr. Gabol’s home on Elms Blvd. For photos, click here.
“The Historic Preservation Commission seeks to recognize the hard work and investment of property owners whose projects improve the appearance of Historic Excelsior Springs,” said Betty Bissell, chairwoman.
Anyone who wishes to nominate a property owner may fill out the 2024 Awards Program Nomination Form or contact Laura Mize, Community Development Department, at the Hall of Waters, 816-629-7011, or by email.
