Excelsior Springs SAFE is excited to partner with the Excelsior Springs Community Center, Synergy Services, and Excelsior Springs Hospital to present Family Connections, a 7-session experience for families with children ages 10-14. Registration is $35, however, the registration fee will be refunded to families that attend at least 5 of the 7 sessions.
Family Connections will be a fun and economical way for your family to intentionally spend time together and build parent/child relationships over the summer. We’ll meet on Thursdays from 5:30 – 8:00 pm from June 6th – July 25th (no meeting on July 4). Dinner will be provided for families from 5:30 – 6 pm. Then, we’ll split into a separate parent/caregiver sessions and a youth session for one hour. Certified trainers will lead the groups in sessions designed to build protective factors and positive relationships in families. In the last hour, families come together to participate in activities together. The curriculum is Strengthening Families 10-14, an evidence-based program.
Requirements: Due to grant funding, all families need to reside in Excelsior Springs School District boundaries and have at least one child who is 10-14 years old. Free childcare is available for younger children.
