Excelsior Springs Senior Center
The Excelsior Springs Senior Center is a place to socialize, participate in activities, and enjoy a hot nutritious meal during the week from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Senior Center offers a variety of activities from card games to fitness classes and many other health programs. The Senior Center is available for anyone 60 years of age and older, or physically or mentally challenged between 18-59 years of age.
Excelsior Springs Home Delivered Meals
The Excelsior Springs Senior Center also manages the home delivered meals within the city limits. The program is provided through a partnership with Mid-American Regional Council. MARC works with vendors to deliver meals to homebound older adults. The meals are planned by a registered dietician to provide one-third of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of nutrients for adults. To be eligible, a person must be aged 60 or older, and physically or mentally unable to leave their home. A limited number of meals are available for those who are aged 18-59 and disabled. In some situations, an eligible person’s caregiver may also receive meals. Priority is given to those with the greatest social and/or economic need. Call 816-421-4980 to find out if you’re eligible for home-delivered meals.
