The National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 authorizes a program of Federal matching grants known as the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF). HPF provides funds to state historic preservation offices to assist in carrying out preservation activities. Missouri State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) awards a minimum of ten percent of its HPF monies for exclusive use by Certified Local Governments. Excelsior Springs is a Certified Local Government!
The City of Excelsior Springs is developing a Historic Preservation Plan for the Isley Neighborhood. This project is funded in part through an HPF grant administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, State Historic Preservation Office.
The plan will help identify preservation goals, long-range priorities, and strategies for protecting the historic character of the Isley Neighborhood. The process will include public input, review by the Historic Preservation Commission, and recommendations that can guide future preservation efforts.
Planning 2 Preserve, LLC has been selected to provide professional consulting services for the project.
Residents and property owners are encouraged to learn more and participate in the planning process. Take this interactive survey to participate. https://arcg.is/10CTry1
