The Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Commission will hold two historic building preservation workshops in August.
On August 18, Angie Gaebler, President of STRATA Architecture, and Corey Thomas, Pishny Restoration Services, will be presenting a workshop on the maintenance and repair of historic masonry buildings. There will be a presentation, question and answer session, and a potential walking tour to look at the Hall of Waters and a couple of other masonry buildings downtown. Attendees will meet in the Council Chambers at the Hall of Waters, 201 E. Broadway, at 5:30 p.m.
On August 22, Scott Busch of oldtimewindows.com will present a window repair workshop at the Excelsior Springs Community Center meeting room from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The workshop will cover how to repair double hung, rope and pulley system windows. Preserve your existing windows and save money!
