The 2021 Neighborhood Preservation Act application cycle opens January 1, 2021. Applications will be accepted beginning January 1, and must be postmarked no later than February 16, 2021.
The NPA provides help for any taxpayer who incurs eligible costs for a new residence or rehabilitates a residence for owner occupancy that is located in a designated area of Missouri. The program offers income tax credits for renovation or new construction of owner occupied housing within the areas shown on the maps below.
The map below left is for the areas that meet the definition of Distressed Communities and will also be referred to as qualified areas in the program information. The map on right is referred to as an eligible area (not distressed as the map is labeled). Click on maps for enlargements.
If your property lies within a distressed or eligible area and you are interested in applying for tax credits, visit the Missouri DED website for more information.
