The City of Excelsior Springs is pleased to announce the completion and adoption of the Isley Neighborhood Preservation Plan.

The plan was developed to recognize and preserve the historic character of the Isley Neighborhood while providing a framework for future reinvestment, neighborhood improvements, and appropriate change. It builds upon previous preservation efforts and establishes goals, priorities, and implementation strategies to guide preservation efforts in the years ahead.

Development of the plan included research and analysis, public engagement with residents and property owners, and review by the Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Commission. Planning 2 Preserve, LLC provided professional consulting services for the project.

The final plan identifies five primary areas of focus: protecting historic resources, encouraging reinvestment, increasing public awareness, strengthening the City’s preservation program, and building community stewardship and partnerships. It also includes specific implementation strategies and action items to help move these goals forward.
