In 1991, Excelsior Springs became a Certified Local Government (CLG). The role of the HPC is to assist the City in the administration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecode360.com\/29306502\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Historic Preservation Ordinance<\/a>. The HPC consists of seven members, residents of Excelsior Springs or appointed to serve recommendation of the Historic Preservation Ordinance, all appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The term of each member is three years.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Current Members:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>Sonya Morgan, Chairman<br \/>\nSusan Blaser, Vice-Chairman<br \/>\nCharles Boothe<br \/>\nDarryl Couts<br \/>\nRick DeFlon<br \/>\nJody Pasalich<br \/>\nAnna Sue Spohn<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Staff:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>Joshua Garrett, City Planner<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63\" src=\"https:\/\/cityofesmo.com\/preservation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/spacer.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"12\" height=\"6\" \/><br \/>\nMembers of the public are encouraged to contact the Community Development Department to discuss questions or concerns about preservation, historic districts and local or National historic designation.
