GENERAL INFORMATION

The Seventh Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri, Excelsior Springs Municipal Division is an extension and qualified division of the Circuit Court of Clay County. The Municipal Court adjudicates traffic and other ordinance violations filed by the Excelsior Springs Police Department, Animal Control and Code Enforcement Officers.

The mission of our Municipal Division is to treat the citizens who appear in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and assure them of a fair and impartial disposition of their case(s).

Court dockets will be posted below approximately two (2) weeks prior to the corresponding court date. Final dockets will be posted just prior to court.

You are allowed ONE continuance prior to appearing in court as long as there are no special circumstances. Continuances may be requested by contacting the court at 816.630.0209. 

No continuances will be granted after 4:00 pm on the Monday prior to court.

CITATIONS & PAYMENT INFORMATION
YOUR FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT AT THE TIME SPECIFIED ON YOUR CITATION, OR OTHERWISE RESPOND TO THE CITATION AS DIRECTED, MAY RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION OF YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE AND DRIVING PRIVILEGE AND MAY RESULT IN A WARRANT BEING ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST. OTHER LEGAL PENALTIES PRESCRIBED BY LAW MAY BE IMPOSED FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR AND DISPOSE OF THE VIOLATION.

POINTS ASSESSED – MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE (FORM 899) 

TRAFFIC OFFENSES REQUIRING A COURT APPEARANCE
No proof of insurance (even if you had insurance at the time of the stop)
Any violation involving a motor vehicle accident
Speeding 26 M.P.H. or more over the speed limit

To dispose of your citation prior to the assigned court date, in person or by mail, you must:
1. Sign the Appearance, Plea of Guilty and Waiver on the back of your citation.
2. Obtain cash, money order, personal check or cashier’s check payable to Excelsior Springs Municipal Division in the designated amount listed on the fine schedule.
3. Mail or bring in payment no later than 3:00 P.M. on your scheduled court date.
Mailed payments must be received by the court on or before the court date. Do not mail cash!

If your violation/fine is not listed on the fine schedule, you must appear in court on the date and time listed on your citation.
