The City is changing our residential trash hauler. Redgate Disposal will begin providing our new trash/recycle service on Monday, September 29th. New 65 gallon black poly carts will be delivered in the two weeks prior, starting September 15th. Please do not use the new carts until September 29th. Everyone will get one black trash cart with a red lid and one black recycle cart with a yellow lid for the base fee of $23.50 per month. If you need additional carts, trash or recycle, please call Public Works at 816-630-0755, ext. 4421, to add them to your account. Extra carts are $7.00 per month for trash or recycle.
Allied Waste will be servicing their cans for the last time during the week of September 22nd thru the 26th. - On Your Trash Day:
o Have trash and recycling to the curb by 7am.
o To help eliminate unwanted litter in our community, residents should bag their trash before putting it into the trash cart.
o To ensure cans empty completely please avoid over-packing cans and ensure that cardboard is cut into smaller pieces.
Tips:
- Small sharp items or medical strips need to be placed in a hard plastic jug (such as a laundry detergent container) WITH a lid that is sealed with tape prior to disposal in your trash can.
- Please wrap or box broken glass or items with sharp edges for safety.
- Please break down cardboard.
- Be sure to place your cart facing forward, wheels against the curb. Carts must be placed approximately 3 feet away from cars, mailboxes, basketball goals, trees, low power lines, etc. so the automated arm of the trucks can easily reach your cart.
