On May 8, 2024, ESHPC Chairperson Betty Bissell presented the 2024 Preservation Awards to recipients.

Jody and Linda Pasalich were presented a commercial award for their renovation of 115 E. Broadway. The 2-story commercial building houses Other Trails Coffee Shop on the main floor and a short term rental on the second floor.
Dustin and Tera Fizer also received a commercial award for their work at 501 St. Louis Avenue. The historic garage will remain in its historic context and is now Fizer Garage. The award winners were not present.
Betty presented an award to Sonya Morgan for her passion to the City’s Historic community for her tireless efforts and is being awarded the first Historic Preservationist award in Excelsior Springs. Morgan retired from serving on the City Council and as laiason to the Historic Preservation Commission over the past 12 years.
