Animal Control Center

The current Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center (ESACC) opened in March 2012, and it is successfully meeting the needs of our community! ESACC is staffed by two Animal Control Officers, Kristina Baxter, with 15+ years of service, and Melissas Davis, with 13+ years of service. Your Animal Control Officers are committed to public safety and animal welfare in the Excelsior Springs community.

SERVICES:

Animal control services are provided Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Your Animal Control Officers encourage you to call if you have a complaint or concern, so they can work to get those issues resolved before they worsen. The number to call is 816-630-0816. An answering machine is available 24 hours a day, so your call can be anonymous, if you prefer.

Please report the following incidents, if they occur inside the limits of the City of Excelsior Springs: animal bites, dangerous dogs, sick or injured animals, animal neglect or cruelty, stray animals, deceased animals, excessive barking, lost or found pets, and any other incident that is cause for concern. Animal Control Officers do not handle wildlife. A wildlife company is recommended, if you need wildlife removed from your property.

To surrender a pet or adopt a pet from the Animal Control Center, a scheduled appointment is necessary. Please call 816-630-0816 or email esacc@espolice.com to schedule these services.

All animals adopted from ESACC must be spayed and neutered. Adoption fees include spay/neuter and vaccinations. Anyone wanting to adopt a pet from ESACC is required to complete an adoption application. Qualifying applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.

To see the pets currently available for adoption, visit our Facebook “Adoptable Pets” album under the photos tab.

LICENSE YOUR PET:

An annual Pet License is required for all dogs, cats, and miniature pigs. Your pet must have a current rabies vaccination to obtain the license. The pet license can be purchased at City Hall, at ESACC, at the Excelsior Springs Animal Clinic, or at the Vintage Plaza Veterinary Hospital.
